Late Thanksgiving post

I just found a little bit of time and so I thought I would post about Thanksgiving. This is perfect timing for me seeing as it's a few days before Christmas!!

My sister and I went to Wisconsin to visit family that we haven't seen in 6+ years!! It was a blast!! My cousins are all HUGE!! Not fat, just grown up!! The youngest one is 14 and I think even she is taller than me... I'm not sure that's how it's supposed to work - could someone please let her know?

Thanksgiving Dinner was great - thanks Auntie Joanne!! And the best part of the whole day was the fact that I got to spend time with my grandmother. All the younger cousins call her Staramama (Slovenian for Grandma). Everyone told us how happy she was that we came to see her - that's happiness that reciprocates!! We had a great time taking pictures, playing games and watching old home movies.

One night my aunt and uncle took us to a comedy club called Comedy Sportz where two teams of improv comedians compete for points. I have to say I was very entertained. My cousin, Samantha, kept asking me if I was alright because I was laughing so hard!! My sister actually went up on stage to compete in one of the games and she was fantastic!! (See picture of her having a wonderful time on stage!)

It was sad to leave such a great time up there (and the weather was great, too!!) but it just makes me want to go back and visit again. I guess that's the best part about it.

Hopefully I won't take quite this long to post about Christmas!!!

Happy Holidays everyone!!!!!!!!!!!

All Hallow's Eve!!!

Happy Eve-to-All-Saint's-Day everybody!!!!!

My office building's property manager sponsored a blood drive today. And, in my book, that's totally awesome!! I mean, c'mon!?! What better day to ask for people's blood than Halloween?! I gave my first pint today and I'm SO proud of me! I can't wait for another 56 days (that's how long you have to wait to donate again so that your red blood cells have enough time to regenerate) to go donate again!!!

And, btw, that's 2 days after CHRISTMAS!!!!!

So, here's my plug to all things good - GO DONATE!!! If you want mo' info befo' you go.... visit www.givelife.org or call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE (1-800-448-3543).

I can't believe I've never given blood before!! It wasn't that bad.... but I wasn't as nervous about the needles and the blood - it's how woozy you feel afterwards!!! But, I didn't get as woozy as I thought I would. I actually didn't get dizzy until I climbed the stairs to my office.... helloooooo!! How did I think I was going to feel? But at least today I have a fully legitimate excuse for propping my feet up on my desk or lying on the floor!!

Hope everyone gets more treats than tricks tonight!!!!

Halloween Weekend Tidings of Evil

Just wanted to post well-wishings to everyone going out to celebrate Halloween this weekend. Be evil (in a good way) to your heart's content!! Just PLEASE don't end up like this..... it's never a good look for anybody.

Not even this jack o' lantern.

I love Halloween and scary things but I just can't seem to get a costume together - ever. You can tell the costumes that were thrown together at the last minute and to me that's just downright insulting. So, unless I can put the time and effort into putting together a great look, I'm just not going to insult the great tradition of Halloween costumes like that. I WILL NOT be that person.

If anyone has any suggestions for future Halloween costumes or even pictures they'd like to share of some good costumes, I'd be most appreciative.

Thanks - YO!

Me & George Romero

My sister, Marie, took this picture of me and the infamous zombie movie director, George Romero. Cute couple, huh?

What you cannot see in this picture, however, is that George has his hand placed squarely on my rear. Oh yes, my friends, George is VERY young at heart!
